Access Your Experiment Analytics in GemX
Before reviewing data, make sure you have created and activated a Template Test or Multipage Test.
If you haven’t set up a test yet, start here:
To open your experiment analytics:
Step 1: From your Shopify Admin, locate GemX and go to the Experiments tab.

Step 2: Find your active or completed experiment.

Step 3: Click the Analytics icon on the right.

Choose a View Mode
Both Template Testing and Multipage Testing share the same two View Modes for analyzing user behavior:

View by: Sessions start with page
Includes only sessions where the tested page was the first page viewed.
This view mode is useful when you want to isolate the impact of that page.
View by: All Sessions
Includes every session where the tested page appeared at any point.
This view mode is best for reviewing your overall traffic behavior.

Key Sections in the GemX Analytics Dashboard
The analytics dashboard is structured into several sections. While some details differ between Template and Multipage Testing, the overall layout is consistent.
Experiment Information
This section summarizes key configuration details, such as:
- Total visitors or sessions
- Device breakdown
- Test duration
- Traffic sources (Template Testing only)
- Winning metric & traffic split (Template Testing only)

Multipage Testing includes fewer settings, so its experiment info section is more simplified.
Click View all metrics to expand into a detailed comparison.

Path Analysis (Funnel Optimize Plan Only)
If you’re on the Funnel Optimize plan, this section shows how users move through your funnel after viewing the tested page.
Use the Control and Variant tabs to compare how each version guides users through your funnel.

Performance Over Time
Trend charts help you understand how the experiment performed throughout the testing period.
You can view:
- Click-through rate
- Total sessions
- Total orders
- Total revenue
These graphs can be expanded, and you can switch between metrics for deeper analysis.

Source Segment
A breakdown of who your visitors are and how they reached your site, including:
- Visitor by type: New vs. Returning visitors
- Sessions by device type: Desktop, Mobile, and Tablet
- Sessions by traffic source: Organic, Direct, Paid, Referral, etc.

This view helps you understand whether performance differences are influenced by audience type.
