How to View and Read Multipage Testing Experiment Analytics

To effectively optimize your conversion rates and validate design changes, it’s essential to understand how to read GemX’s analytics dashboard. If you’re running a Multipage Testing experiment, this guide will walk you through how to access, interpret, and make the most of your experiment data within the GemX app..

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • The GemX app has been installed on your Shopify store.

  • You’ve successfully created and activated a Multipage Testing experiment.

How to View Experiment Analytics on GemX

Step 1: Access the Analytics Dashboard

  • Open the GemX app from your Shopify Admin.

  • Navigate to the Experiments tab.

  • Find your Multipage Testing experiment and click the Analytics icon on the right-hand side.

You’ll now be directed to the analytics dashboard dedicated to that experiment.

Step 2: Choose a View Mode

GemX provides two View by modes to help you analyze how users interact with your test pages.

View by Sessions start with page

  • Only includes sessions where the experiment page was the first page viewed.

  • Metrics such as Conversion Rate, Bounce Rate, and Engagement are calculated specifically for this type of session.

View by All Sessions

  • Includes every session where the experiment page appeared — regardless of when it was viewed during the customer journey.

  • Offers a broader, more complete picture of user behavior.

Step 3: Understand the Analytics Sections

Experiment Information

This section summarizes experiment settings. Similar to Template Testing but without:

  • Winning metric

  • Traffic split

Performance Summary

Quickly see which version is outperforming.

Click “View all metrics” to access a detailed comparison between Control and Variant based on:

  • Sessions

  • Conversion Rate

  • Orders

  • Revenue


Performance Over Time

Visualize key metrics across the test duration:

  • Total sessions

  • Total visitors

  • Orders

  • Revenue

Functions similar to Template Testing dashboard, with expandable charts and customizable metrics.

Template Pair Listing

This section shows all the page pairs being tested in your experiment.

Each pair displays:

  • Pair name: Control template vs. Variant template

  • Goal type: Revenue or Conversion Rate

  • Conversions

  • Orders

  • Sessions

For each pair, you can:

  • Click “Analysis” to open a detailed analytics dashboard for that pair (same layout as Template Testing).

  • Click “Make Winner” to go to the analytics dashboard for that pair with the winner selection section highlighted.
