How to Upgrade to the Funnel Optimize plan in GemX

Step 1: From your Shopify admin, go to GemX: CRO & A/B Testing under the Apps section.

Step 2: On the GemX Dashboard, click the “X-day free trial” label to open the Pricing panel.

Here’s what to do:

  • Compare the Page Optimize and Funnel Optimize plans shown below.

  • Browse the revenue slider at the top to preview how the usage fee changes based on your store’s monthly revenue range.

  • When you're ready to upgrade, click Select Funnel Optimize to proceed.

Important note: Whether you select any revenue range, GemX does NOT charge the Usage fee when you subscribe. The Usage fee is based on the actual revenue recorded each month and is billed at the start of the next billing period.

How Billing Works After Upgrading

Once you upgrade to the Funnel Optimize plan, all charges are handled directly through Shopify Billing, including:

  • Subscription fee: You will be charged $99/month for the Funnel Optimize plan.

  • Usage fee: An additional fee is applied based on your store’s monthly revenue range.

  • Proration: Shopify may prorate charges depending on where you are in the billing cycle when you upgrade.

  • Billing visibility: You can review all charges anytime in Shopify Admin > Settings > Billing.

  • Experiments remain active: Upgrading does not interrupt any existing experiments or analytics data.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will upgrading to the Funnel Optimize plan interrupt my current experiments?

No. All your active experiments will continue running without interruption. After upgrading, you’ll simply gain access to additional features like unlimited experiments, Multipage Testing, and Path Analysis, while keeping all your existing data intact.

2. When will I be charged after upgrading?

Charges are processed by Shopify immediately after you approve the plan upgrade or prorated according to your billing cycle. The updated subscription fee and usage fee will appear in your Shopify Billing history for full transparency.

3. Can I downgrade back to the Page Optimize plan later?

Yes. You can downgrade anytime through GemX > Settings > Billing. However, Multipage Testing and other premium features will become unavailable, and any funnel experiments depending on these features will automatically pause.

4. Will my historical analytics data be affected after upgrading?

All of your previous experiment data, page analytics, and performance insights are preserved. Upgrading only expands your access, not reduces it, so you can continue analyzing past experiments alongside new ones.

5. Do I need to reconfigure my existing experiments once I upgrade?

No changes are required. Your existing experiments will keep running as configured. The upgrade simply unlocks more experiment slots, more analytics, and advanced testing options that you can start using immediately.

6. How do I check my usage fee after upgrading?

You can see the detailed breakdown at any time in Shopify Admin > Settings > Billing. Shopify lists both the subscription fee ($99) and the usage fee applied for that billing cycle, giving you a clear view of total costs.

7. What happens to my Multipage Testing experiments if I downgrade later?

If you downgrade to the Page Optimize plan, any Multipage Testing experiment will automatically pause because this feature is exclusive to Funnel Optimize. You can still view the experiment’s historical data, but you won’t be able to run or edit it further unless you upgrade again.

8. Does upgrading give me access to all advanced targeting options?

Yes. Upgrading unlocks advanced targeting segments beyond audience, device, and source, which allows more precise control of how traffic is split across your experiments. This helps you test with greater accuracy, especially when running complex setups.
