Page Analytics in GemX

Understand how each Shopify page performs and optimize with clarity with GemX's Page Analytics.

What is GemX Page Analytics?

GemX Page Analytics is an advanced reporting dashboard that gives you a complete view of your store’s page performance. With easy-to-read charts, detailed metrics, and side-by-side comparisons over time, you can see exactly how each page contributes to your traffic, engagement, and sales.

You can explore performance trends across all your store pages and access key data that shows how visitors interact with your content. Page Analytics provides insights that help you understand engagement, spot opportunities to enhance your site experience, and make informed decisions to improve your results over time.

Note: To use Page Analytics, you need to have the GemX app installed in your Shopify store.

For setup instructions, refer to this article: How to Install GemX.

What is the Difference Between Page Analytics and Experiment Analytics?

It’s important to understand how these two analytics features in GemX differ:

Feature

Description

Experiment Analytics

Shows performance metrics specific to your experiment. To access it, open the Experiment tab and click the analytics icon. For details, see: How to View and Read Experiment Analytics.

Page Analytics

Displays metrics for all active pages having traffic on your store, even if they’re not part of any experiment.

How to View Page Analytics

Step 1: Open the Analytics Dashboard

From your Shopify Admin, open the GemX: CRO & A/B Testing app.

In the left-hand menu, click Analytics. This opens the Page Analytics Dashboard, where you will see a comprehensive listing of your pages along with performance data.

By default, each page row shows these metrics:

  • Sessions

  • Bounce Rate

  • Click-through Rate

  • Conversion Rate

To tailor the view to your needs, click the icon the right-hand side of the table header. From there, ou can:

  • Add additional metrics to display.
  • Remove any default metrics you don’t need.
  • Reorder columns by dragging and dropping them into your preferred sequence.

Note: Every metric in the listing also shows a percentage change compared to the previous period, enabling you to spot trends and assess performance over time.

You can use the date filter to select any timeframe (e.g., the last 7 days, 14 days, 30 days).

Step 2: View Detailed Analytics for a Specific Page

  • In the Page Listing, click on the name of the page you want to analyze.

  • GemX will automatically open the Page Detail Analytics view for that page.

In this detailed view, you can see:

Performance Overview

  • All core metrics (Sessions, Bounce Rate, Click-through Rate, Conversion Rate, Revenue, AOV, etc.).

  • Next to each metric, GemX displays the percentage increase or decrease compared to the previous period you selected in your date filter.

Path Analysis

You will also see the Path Analysis area, which helps you understand how visitors move through your conversion funnel after viewing this page.

In the Path Analysis:

The first column shows the total number of sessions that included this page.

To the right, you’ll see columns representing each step in the customer journey (for example, viewing another page or performing a specific action).

For each step, GemX calculates the percentage of sessions that progressed to that next step.

  • Formula: Step Conversion Rate = (Sessions at the next step / Sessions at the previous step) × 100.
  • The conversion rate is displayed in a badge that is vertically aligned in the center of its cell, making it easy to read alongside the corresponding count.

The Path Analysis always includes three fixed columns on the right that summarize key conversion milestones:

  • Added to Cart: The number of sessions where an item was added to the cart.

  • Reached Checkout: The number of sessions where the checkout page was visited.

  • Complete Checkout: The number of sessions where a purchase was completed.
